U.K. trade journal PrintMonthly reports Fujifilm U.K. announced an 85% increase in the use of its in-store PHOTO by Fujifilm Kiosk, launched at its flagship House of Photography store in Covent Garden last year where more than 35,000 photos have been printed so far. Fujifilm has attributed the success to a combination of good kiosk positioning as well as the increased popularity of personalization and gifting.
“We have developed some excellent technology in recent years which makes it easier than ever to access printed photos,” says Theo Georghiades, general manager of Imaging Solutions at Fujifilm UK, to writer David Osgar. “The latest data from our House of Photography store proves the value of printed photos and their recent renaissance as customers look to print more photos, offering significant opportunities for retailers to enhance their customer offering.”
Fujifilm opened the three-story House of Photography store in Covent Garden location in 2020, only to close it a few weeks later due to the pandemic. The store is now open to showcase exclusively Fujifilm products, including Instax cameras and printers, X and GFX camera systems, lenses, accessories, and more.
Recently, Fujifilm UK has unveiled a brand refresh to its photo printing services with the launch of PHOTO by Fujifilm across its 150 independent retail partners in the United Kingdom and Ireland, according to Retail Times. Each of its independent partners – which exclusively stock Fujifilm photo printing services – will be provided with new brand guidelines and a fresh exterior to entice new and existing customers
